IOD, I Oh Deary Me! Updated*

*I had a call from a Ben Jewett of the IoD, “reaching out”, as we say in the USA, following my renewal. He has not read this blog, I am shocked to learn!
I advised him of the stray apostrophe, suggesting that it was a result of Steve Jobs’ ghostly iOS/OSX obsession with editing typing on a Mac or iPad. My surmise was correct, and the apostrophe is no more!

Having just renewed my IOD membership, I read the info about facilities.

The largest and most famous of business lounge’s with a capacity for up to 150 people.

Yes.
“The largest and most famous of business lounge’s with a capacity for up to 150 people.”

Gosh, this rather bumptious and prissy organisation suffers from apostrophe ignorance.

I expect they will take the easy way out and lobby for a change to the use of apostrophes, on the grounds that they are not inclusive enough.

Fail.
