Belfast used to be moored off Priddy’s Hard in Gosport, prior to being scrapped (then she was saved). My mate Clive Broomfield and I, catching lugworms, rowed a boat around her, around 1970.
I get irritated when journos write the HMS so-and-so, which works for a US Navy ship, but not for one of Her Majesty’s Ships (the United States Ship xxx works, the Her Majesty’s Ship xxx does not).
