How Cookies Crumble Silos

Banks, WordPress, wherever I post I get nagged to enable cookies.

Supposedly this is to make for a better user experience, which is tosh – it enables the sites to track me, and therefore leaves a breadcrumb trail wherever I virtually go. For Uncle Sam to protect me?

The trouble is, cookies make hard the task of running a compartmentalized life online. How do you post one thing as a private citizen and another in a professional or job role, without conflict?

I suppose I should run different blogs on different devices, and see how that works.
