The mid-air collision in which a Black Hawk took out a CJR-700 regional jet with 60 passengers and 4 crew, on final approach to DC’s Reagan Airport, was avoidable & should have been impossible. UPDATE: Black Hawks can be flown autonomously – see video. below.
My immediate thoughts on reading the news online (no TV service is allowed in the Bastable household):
• “The people in the jet – did they suffer or was it a quick end?”
• “How could it happen?”
• “It went into the river – like my Uncle Ken’s Meteor after a mid-air.”
And –
• “Was there a high-value political target on the flight?”
The last thought itself would have been impossible for me, 20 years ago. In 2025, now knowing what the US Deep State is and has long been capable of, it was a reflexive question which came into my head when I learned that the helicopter was a US military Black Hawk. Not a civilian craft.
You push the thought away: “Don’t be silly!”, think about the poor souls who died, and their relatives and loved ones – but it is out of the box and can’t be put back. And it comes to the fore when you read
“The helicopter was not broadcasting ADS-B data.”
“There were three individuals on the Black Hawk which was operating out of Fort Belvoir in Virginia, according to the Army. None of those aboard were senior Army officials“
Fingers crossed, thoughts and prayers for the dead, the families, the friends and associates grievously hurt by this incident (“there are no accidents – only incidents”).
