But…

California was lost when Reagan folded on the “Illegals Amnesty” of 1986, because he wanted to be liked. Republicans want to be liked and want to make money whilst being at the political trough. But most Republicans in DC are not conservative – they are liberals who could not get a gig running as a Democrat. The left pressures them to move left, whilst calling them hard or far right. This just moves the political center left, away from the right wing majority of voters, who have no alternative party to vote for. And woe betide them if they dare to vote the “wrong way”…

VDH fails to understand (or fails to correctly assign the blame for) the cause of America’s and what used to be called Christendom’s decline: the “conservative” parties have failed to conserve anything. Ever. Voting repeatedly for nominally conservative parties or candidates would perplex Einstein – it doesn’t deliver conservative policies. You get two flavors of left.

As I have pointed out, the Trump “Republican” incoming administration is a rebranded Democratic Party straight from 1990. America has a hard left party, The Democratic Party, and a soft left party that any 1980s or 1990s Democrat voter would have felt comfortable with.

Take a look at Texas: solidly “conservative”, but the Republican majority is oddly unable to pass conservative policies.

The Republican Party is the problem. It needs to die and be replaced with a fiscally and socially conservative, small business, low-tax, family-centered, America First party.

Once Trump’s liberal administration has repaired the DC Clown Car, the next DNC clown show will hop back in the circus ring and drive the country around in left-wing circles. The Republicans will celebrate this, because they can get back to fund-raising on promises to “get the Dems out and fix the country”.
